I need you to understand the weight of what just happened. And because I’m a nerd like that.. a tiny history lesson for context.
On April 25th, Uranus moved into Gemini. And I know that might sound like just another astrology headline, but I need you to sit with this for a second, because this planet hasn’t been in this sign since 1941. Eighty-four years. That means nobody alive right now has ever experienced this. Not one person on this planet has lived through a Uranus in Gemini transit. This is genuinely new territory for all of us.
So when I say this is a big deal, I’m not being dramatic. if you know where we are headed you can prepare because it’s going to be ALOT.
Uranus is what we call the Great Awakener. It’s the planet of sudden change, disruption, liberation, and breakthrough. It doesn’t ease you into anything. It doesn’t ask how you’re feeling before it flips the table. Uranus is the bolt of lightning that hits the thing in your life that was never built to last anyway. And yes, that can be scary. But here’s what I’ve learned, what gets struck by Uranus was already ready to fall. The lightning just makes it happen faster.
Uranus takes about 84 years to move through all 12 signs of the zodiac, spending roughly 7 years in each one. So when it changes signs, we’re not talking about a week of weird energy. We’re talking about a seven-year chapter. A chapter that shapes an entire generation.
Now. Gemini.
Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, thought, language, information, movement, and the mind. Gemini is quick, curious, witty, dual-natured. It rules how we talk to each other, how we learn, how information travels, how we get from place to place. It rules technology, media, education, local community, and the stories we tell ourselves and each other about what’s real.
So when Uranus, planet of revolution and awakening lands in Gemini’s domain, everything I just described is up for a complete overhaul.
And history proves this out. The last time Uranus was in Gemini, 1941 to 1949, humanity built the first computer. Television went from a science experiment to something sitting in people’s living rooms. The United Nations was founded. Antibiotics became widely available. Jet propulsion changed how we move through the world. An entire new architecture of human communication was invented from scratch. Before that, 1858 to 1866, Uranus in Gemini brought us the transatlantic telegraph, for the first time, continents could talk to each other in real time. Darwin published On the Origin of Species and permanently changed how humans understand themselves. The Civil War redefined what freedom means.
Every single time. Every single time Uranus moves through Gemini, the way humans think, communicate, and share truth gets reinvented at its roots. We are next. We are literally in it right now.
And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’re already watching information systems break down. That we’re already in a crisis of what’s real and what’s manufactured. That AI is reshaping everything about how content is created and consumed. Uranus in Gemini didn’t cause that, but it is going to accelerate it, intensify it, and ultimately force us through to the other side of it.
Here’s what I want you to hold onto through all of that: the chaos is the clearing. The disruption is the invitation.
Because this transit is not just about what happens out there in the world. It’s about what happens in you. This is why I have been preaching discernment over and over again for the last few months.
Uranus in Gemini is asking every single one of us to liberate our minds. To question the stories we inherited about what we’re allowed to think, say, learn, and become. To stop shrinking our voices to fit rooms that were never built for us. To stop editing ourselves in real time out of fear of how we’ll land.
The thoughts you keep almost saying out loud? Uranus in Gemini says say them.
The idea that keeps waking you up at 3am that you keep dismissing as too big, too weird, too much? Uranus in Gemini says write it down and follow it.
The version of yourself you’ve been preparing to become once you have more time, more money, more credentials, more permission? Uranus in Gemini says that version is already here and has been waiting on you.
I want to be very honest with you about something. This transit is going to be uncomfortable for people who need certainty. Who need to know exactly how things are going to go before they move. Uranus doesn’t work like that. It rewards the ones who can stay curious when everything is shifting. Who can hold two truths at once. Who can change their mind without losing themselves.
That is actually a Gemini, the ability to move fluidly between perspectives, to be adaptable, to not be so locked into one story that you can’t receive a new one.
We’re all going to need to develop that capacity over the next seven years.
Now let me speak to each sign briefly, because where this lands for you personally depends on where Gemini lives in your chart. Read for your rising sign if you know it. If not, read your sun sign there’s still medicine there.
Aries and Aries Rising — Uranus is moving through your house of communication and the mind. Your voice is getting an upgrade. The boldest, most original ideas you’ve been sitting on are ready to come out. This is a seven-year invitation to stop second-guessing how you express yourself and just say the thing.
Taurus and Taurus Rising — Uranus just spent seven years in your sign, so you already know what this planet feels like up close. Now it moves into your house of money and resources. Unexpected, even unconventional ideas about how you earn and what you value are coming in. Stay open. The weird idea might be the right one.
Gemini and Gemini Rising — Baby, this is yours. Uranus is moving through your first house, your house of identity and how you show up in the world. You are not who you were. You are not going back to who you were. This is your seven-year permission slip to arrive as your full, actual, unedited self. Take it.
Cancer and Cancer Rising — Uranus is moving through your twelfth house — the realm of the hidden, the spiritual, what lives just below the surface of your conscious awareness. Profound inner shifts are happening. Dreams, downloads, sudden spiritual clarity. Let it come. You don’t have to have words for it yet.
Leo and Leo Rising — Your community, your network, your people are all changing. New relationships are coming in that will feel electric and catalytic. Old affiliations that no longer serve your evolution may fall away. The people who arrive in your life during this transit are not accidents.
Virgo and Virgo Rising — Your career and your public presence are in revolution. The work you’re meant to be known for is evolving — not just getting better, but genuinely changing form. What you’re being called to offer the world is bigger and different than you might have planned. Trust the pivot.
Libra and Libra Rising — Philosophy, travel, higher learning, and the expansion of your worldview are all lit up. You may find yourself crossing borders — physical, cultural, intellectual, spiritual ones — in ways that permanently alter how you see yourself and what you believe is possible. Go.
Scorpio and Scorpio Rising — Shared finances, deep intimacy, and entanglements that have kept you financially or emotionally bound are being restructured. This transit is about liberation through letting go of what was never truly yours to carry. What releases during this time is making room for something real.
Sagittarius and Sagittarius Rising — I have to be personal here because this is my sign. Gemini is our opposite sign. It’s our mirror, our complement, the energy that completes what we carry. Uranus moving through Gemini activates our seventh house — partnerships, significant relationships, the people who come in and change the game. For us, the revolution is happening through other people. The ones who are arriving now are going to redirect our lives in ways we can’t fully anticipate. Stay open to being surprised by who shows up.
Capricorn and Capricorn Rising — Daily life, health routines, and how you work are all being overhauled. Something about how you’ve structured your days, your body care, your workflow is ready for reinvention. Uranus rewards experimentation here. Try the unconventional thing.
Aquarius and Aquarius Rising — Uranus is your ruling planet, so this energy is familiar to you — you were literally built for it. It’s now moving through your fifth house of creativity, self-expression, romance, and joy. The creative work you’ve been warming up in private? It’s ready to be seen. This is your era of full, visible creative expression.
Pisces and Pisces Rising — Home, family, ancestry, and the roots of who you are are all being reimagined. The story you’ve told yourself about where you come from and where you belong is being updated. You are allowed to rewrite the origin story. That is not betrayal. That is evolution.
Here is what I want to leave you with.
We are in one of the most electrically alive periods any of us will experience in our lifetimes. Uranus in Gemini. Pluto in Aquarius. Jupiter moving toward Leo this summer. The cosmos is not whispering. It’s speaking clearly and it’s speaking loudly.
The message is this: the version of you that you’ve been carrying around privately, the one with the bigger idea, the real voice, the gift that hasn’t found its full expression yet, that is the version being called forward right now.
Not the edited version. Not the one that’s been made smaller to fit a space that was never designed to hold you.
The real one.
Uranus in Gemini will shake loose everything that was never truly yours to hold. And in the shaking, what actually belongs to you will finally have room to breathe.
That is the gift inside the disruption.
I’ll be writing more about this transit and what it means for each of us specifically over the coming months. And if you want to go deeper and look at exactly where Gemini lives in your personal chart, what house, what planets, what story, come find me. Have a reading, learn and gain clarity. That’s what I’m here for.
We are just getting started.
Love, light, the stars and the planets, Donna
