The World Is Loud Right Now
I want to name something real.
The world is in a particular kind of unrest right now. There’s fear in the air. Collective anxiety about what’s coming, what’s shifting, who’s in charge of what, whether we’re safe. People are gripping. And there’s a particular voice, well-meaning, sometimes wise that says: *stay close, stay small, stay still. This is not the time to move.*
I hear that voice. I understand it.
And I’m still getting on a plane to Singapore and Bali anyway.
Not out of recklessness. Not out of privilege or performance or proving something. I’m going because I was called there. Because this trip arrived in my life the way the truest things always do not through strategy, but through alignment. Because the path opened. AND I’m going to celebrate Neypi. Day of Silence. So I’ll just do what I have to do.
And I have learned and am still learning, deeply, that trust is not a feeling. Trust is a practice. Trust is the choice you make *in spite of* the noise, not in the absence of it.
Also? A Blood Moon total lunar eclipse is literally happening over the water I’m about to cross. I’m sorry, the ancestors were NOT subtle with this one. 😂 I made moon water, dropped in two Egyptian oils, and said a little *thank you and also please handle my luggage* to the sky. We move in reverence around here. Yes, we do, we MOVE. We don’t wait, because guess what? Tomorrow isn’t promised because you stand still.
Okay But I digress, What Is Actually Happening Astrologically
Something is ending tonight and honestly, it’s been trying to end for a minute now. That low hum in your chest? The strange dreams? The conversation you keep almost having? That’s the eclipse doing its warm-up stretches before the main event.
Tonight, the Full Blood Moon rises in Virgo a *total* lunar eclipse. The Earth moves between the Sun and Moon, casting its shadow across the full moon and turning it red. Ancient peoples stopped everything when this happened. They didn’t keep scrolling. They didn’t post about being unbothered. They *stopped* and paid attention.
So let’s do that.
What This Eclipse Actually Is
This is the fifth eclipse in a series that began in September 2024, moving along the Virgo-Pisces axis. If you’ve felt like the last year and a half has been one long, slow unraveling, you weren’t imagining it. That’s exactly what it’s been.
Virgo and Pisces are in constant conversation with each other. Virgo is the work, the ritual, the refinement, the devotion to craft and service. Pisces is the surrender, the dream, the infinite, the faith that can’t be measured or optimized. This eclipse series has been asking all of us: *where have you been working yourself to the bone trying to control outcomes that were always meant to flow? And where have you been so lost in the dream that you abandoned the real, practical, sacred work of your life?*
Tonight’s eclipse lands on the South Node, the release point. This isn’t about gaining something new. This is about finally putting something down.
South Node eclipses are karmic completions. They come to clear. They don’t ask nicely.
What Virgo Is Really Asking
Most people hear “Virgo” and think: organized desk, color-coded planner, strong opinions about the correct way to load a dishwasher. And sure. But Virgo goes *deep*. At its core, Virgo is about integrity, the sacred relationship between what you believe and how you actually *live*. Whether your daily habits, your rituals, your small quiet choices actually reflect who you’re becoming or who you used to be.
The shadow side of Virgo is the part of us that spent years earning the right to exist. Over-serving. Over-explaining. Shrinking to fit. Fixing everything and everyone because it felt safer than being still. Perfectionism as armor. Busyness as a way to avoid the thing you don’t want to feel.
Sound familiar? (It’s okay. No judgment. We’ve all been there. Some of us were *just* there last Tuesday.) This eclipse is pulling all of that up by the root.
And because Mercury Virgo’s ruler is retrograde right now, this isn’t just emotional. It’s reaching *back*. Into old patterns, old conversations, old versions of yourself that you thought you already handled. Plot twist: you didn’t. But that’s okay. That’s what this moment is for.
What the Eclipse Is Asking of You
This is a powerful threshold. The last full moon of the astrological year. The final eclipse of this entire nodal cycle. A closing of a chapter that, let’s be honest has been A LOT.
So before the astrological new year begins, before the spring equinox turns the wheel, the eclipse has one question:
**What are you still carrying that was never yours to carry?**
Not in theory. Practically. In your body. In your daily life. In the way you wake up and immediately brace for something. In the relationship where you give more than you receive and call it love. In the version of “safe” that is actually just a smaller cage with better lighting.
Virgo reminds us that healing isn’t one big dramatic release (though we love a dramatic release, no shame). It’s the accumulation of small, devoted choices. Tending. Refinement. The willingness to look honestly at what’s actually working versus what’s just… familiar.
You don’t have to have it figured out tonight. Eclipses rarely give you the full picture immediately, the revelations unfold over days and weeks. But you can begin. You can set something down. You can let tonight be the last night you carry it.
A Simple Eclipse Practice
If you feel called, here’s how I’d move with this energy:
Light a candle. Sit with water, a glass, a bowl, whatever you have. Call in your ancestors and ask them to hold the space. Write down what you’re releasing. Not a list of grievances (we are not writing a strongly-worded letter to 2024 tonight). A true acknowledgment: *this is what I’ve been holding. I carried it as long as I needed to. I’m setting it down now.*
If you have ritual oil, anoint your hands, your heart, your feet. The tools we make are medicine precisely because they anchor the intention in the body. Virgo lives in the body. Healing here has to be felt, not just thought about.
Then go outside if you can. Look up. The Blood Moon is your witness.
One Last Thing
There are people reading this who know it’s time to move and are terrified of what people will think. There are people reading this who have been over-giving and under-receiving for so long they’ve forgotten what alignment even feels like. There are people reading this who are gripping somethin, a relationship, an identity, a story because letting go feels like freefall.
The eclipse says: *let go anyway.*
The ground will be there. It always has been. Your ancestors are in it.
This is the medicine of the Blood Moon in Virgo. Not perfection. Not control. Just the radical, devotional, sometimes-terrifying act of becoming more true.
I’ll be watching this moon from somewhere over the Pacific. Say a little prayer for my flight if you think about it. 🙏🏾✈️
The wheel is turning.
Let it. BE.
